What are some smaller towns in Florida?

We moved to fort Myers 3 months ago and would love to find a smaller town to buy a home in in the future! 
I love how everything is super close here but I do not love the traffic and would love to find something more ‘homey’ 
I have family around Naples and in Orlando so around those would be great 
We have a 3 year old so a good school district is a must!

We're about 45 from Ft.Myers. I feel we have found our forever place on Pine Island. Have you ever been out here? We live in St. James City. Our school rating is a 9/10. It's rare to come by. It's just Elementary. You have to bus or drive to Cape Coral for Middle and High School. We also have a VPK, we didn't send our kids there, though. I'm not even thinking about moving until my kids are done with Elementary. 
It's soooo much quieter here, than the Cape and Ft.myers. We have a Winn Dixie on the island and just recently got a 7 Eleven. You can definitely do most of your shopping on the island. If not, we're only 10-15 minutes to the main land. 
Pricing on houses is from low 200's to multi millions. It all depends on where on the island you live. It's broken into St. James City, Bokeelia and Pineland.
Great restaurants, wonderful fishing spots, parks, community swimming pool, e.t.c .
