Prenatals??

Well my gyno put me on prenatal pills to help us conceive! Does anyone else take them or took them when TTC? Did they help?

They don’t increase your chances of conceiving. They aren’t designed to help fertility. It’s suggested to take them once u begin trying to conceive, so that if u do fall pregnant ur body will already have the essential nutrients that a baby needs as soon as growth and development begin after implantation.

Prenatals don’t “help” you conceive. Rather, they ensure that you have all the vitamins generally required to have a healthy pregnancy once you are pregnant, such as folic acid. They can help prevent some birth defects or complications that might occur if you’re vitamin deficient. It’s normal where I live (Canada) to take them when TTC and continued throughout the pregnancy, without the advice of a doctor. Regular vitamins with higher amounts of folic acid would be fine as well.

Prenatal vitamins do not help you conceive. Rather, they help prepare your body for pregnancy. They are recommended to begin at least 3 months prior to TTC, as you are TTC, throughout your pregnancy and even after and throughout your child bearing years.
