July 1st baby. 💙 38w&1d
I came to the hospital on June 30th at 8:00pm to be induced due to my baby weighing in at 8lb and 4oz and his head measuring 3 weeks ahead , also my blood pressure was starting to increased. I got started on cervidil at midnight and got it a total of three times, at 12, 4 and 8am. After I got my 8am dose the doctor came in and decided to break my water even though I was only 2cm, this was the nastiest feeling to me, so warm and SO MUCH FLUID. I leaked fluid for a good two hours after. Yuck. Even though I was only 2cm I was having contractions and they hurt bad, like worse than I feel they should have for only being 2cm. So I got my epidural. My epidural did not hurt, it had a few times it felt really weird but it didn’t hurt and definitely didn’t hurt like those contractions did. The epidural was amazing however it did make me shaky. I was shaky for hours but it was still better than the contractions. after I got it I got started on pitocin to help get things rolling, and I never once felt a single contraction again. I was so numb it was the best. When my nurse checked my dilation I couldn’t even tell she was touching me at all. Same when she inserted the catheter to my bladder. After being on pitocin from noon until 4:30pm I only dilated to 5cm and wasn’t completely effaced. Baby also still hasn’t dropped and his heart beat started to get a little wonky. So this is when the doctor decided c-section will be our best idea and quickest way to get this little man here. I was terrified. I cried. I was a mess. But, I got my c-section and I didn’t feel anything. My anesthesiologist was absolutely amazing and kept me calm and always knowing what to expect to feel next. I was so numb I only felt pressure and not even much of that. The recovery is a lot harder, I’m very very sore, I can’t move very much at all. But needless to say it was all extremely worth it. After the c-section I was very shaky again/still. It’s very common they said. But my shakes are gone now.
