Paying rent - please read before vote.

I figured I'd get the best opinions here.

To out it plain and simple: my son and I have been staying with my boyfriend for a few months. Roommate is getting annoyed and mad that I haven't chipped in for rent even though I was never asked directly. He told my boyfriend who told me.

Half the rent is $300. I just paid almost $400 for the electricity bill.

Detailed story: Since the end of March I've been living with my boyfriend. His half of rent is $300 plus electric.

My boyfriend lost his job 3 weeks ago and and is low on money. I've got a lot saved up still and have seriously been thinking about paying his half. He shares the house with his cousin and his cousin is starting to get mad about me being here with my son and not have paid a bill.

I really can't blame him as there is a baby gate that blocks the door way to the kitchen and he kicks it a lot getting over it and my son has woken him up multiple times early in the morning crying.

I cook and I clean and I've been buying paper towels, toilet paper, cat food/litter, laundry detergent and probably $50 in kitchen supplies not including all the basic spices I got 🤷🏻‍♀️
