My husband and I would like to start TTC baby #2 next month but I’m worried that this situation will be REALLY stressful and anxiety-provoking. I had super high anxiety during my last pregnancy and I worry that COVID will make it way worse. Just curious what other women’s experiences have been...

For me its added stress. I got my positive in January. Started hearing about Covid in February and then they shut down in March. My husbsnd was only able to see my 12 week scan and the first 2 appts. He hasnt been allowed to any other ones including my anatomy scan. Being on lockdown has been tough, not being able to go out and do the things I wanted has been depressing, the whole scare of catching the virus, mask wearing all of it has added some anxiety. Cases are rising now that things are open and everyone keeps talking about the second wave hitting in Sept/October when Im due so thats a bit nerve wracking.

I don’t think it’s any more stressful than not being pregnant. I think everyone is pretty much in the same boat of being unsure of what to do. Only thing is your partner likely won’t get to come to appointments with you but that doesn’t really bother me at all.

It’s not stressful to me pregnant or not. We started TTC in May and happened first cycle like usual. He can’t go to appointments but that fine, he’s gotta keep working anyways lol my other kids stay home for appointments

I’ve definitely felt stress that was COVID related, specifically when my husband wasn’t able to come to appointments. We did IVF and he has been my support this entire time, so to have that taken away was tough. The stress of worrying about getting sick has been real and worrying about what hospital policies will be when I give birth, worrying about if he would be allowed in the room. I’ve had fewer appointments due to COVID. I would say the majority of the stress was March/April, and has lessened as we’ve gotten accustomed to what living with the virus is. 
More than stress I felt depressed though, about not being able to have a normal pregnancy experience after having to go through fertility treatments. It’s been hard not seeing my parents. I wanted to share this pregnancy with my mom who never had her own pregnancy (I’m adopted) and haven’t been able to let her feel the baby move. Being isolated from family and friends has definitely taken an emotional toll. It’s funny though that despite all this, I wouldn’t tell you to wait. After our fertility struggles, I don’t think the virus should be what puts you on hold to try for a baby. It’s hard and it can be stressful, but at least if you get pregnant now you have somewhat of an idea of what you would be getting into and the possibility of a vaccine before you give birth.

It definitely adds a little stress to being pregnant-just worrying about being more high risk, and the unknowns about being pregnant with covid. But the silver lining is that I tele worked during the majority of my pregnancy. I was able to be at home, and more comfortable. But my husband not being able to go with me to appointments for our last baby has been sad. Overall though, I don’t think it would stop me from getting pregnant had I known it was going to happen.

Its not ‘stressed’ me as such, but its definitely upset me that my partner hasn’t been able to come to the scans. I’m also hoping that by September the birthing partner rules have eased as I don’t want to go through any part of the labour alone ideally
