Do you have a Roomba? Worth it or no?

I'm moving into my dads old house and all the floors are wood laminate. Its a 4 bedroom with large living room and kitchen. Im not looking forward to the floor upkeep with 4 kids and a MIL who brings her super fuzzy German Shepard over several times a week.

Do any of you have a Roomba or something similar? Im wondering how well they actually work and if its worth the price, Ive seen them from around $200 up to $600! I dont want to waste the money if its not worth it. I do have a good vacuum as well as a cordless Dyson. Any options?
