When to start baby food?

My baby girl will be 5months old next Thursday!  When did you start solids?!? I’ve been told different things depending on the doctor.

We are waiting until 6 months. She is starting to show some signs of readiness but isn’t sitting on own. Head is still a little wobbly. She was a small girl born at the end of February.

My son was super fussy, drooling a lot, interested in what we were eating, pushing his bottle out of his mouth and not sleeping. The pediatrician said at his 4 month check-up it was time to start him on purées! We did one week with rice cereal. Every day I would make it thicker to teach him how to swallow the food. Now he’s killing his baby oatmeal! Tomorrow we will start to incorporate the different flavors of oatmeal for a week to see if he has any allergies with that. After we’ve tried all the different flavors of oatmeal, as told by his pediatrician, we will start with the basic vegetables (save the sweet ones for last; sweet potatoes, carrots..). A new vegetable every 3 days then move on to fruits after we’ve done that!

We started food. Got the ok from the pediatrician.. but we have a 22 lb child and just formula wasn’t cutting it 🙃

We started last week, baby will be 5 months on the 22nd. I didn't start my first until he was 6 months but he wasn't interested whereas his sister is. She really enjoyed the pumpkin too.

Wait until she has good head support, shows interest and intently watched you while you eat. We started at 4 months because he was ready. He loves pests and sweet potatoes so far. Dislikes pumpkin, apples and bananas.

We got the go ahead at his 4 month appt. he’ll be 5 months tomorrow. He’s ready! He watched us eat and licks his lips. To be honest, we just moved last week and I’m waiting until we are a bit more settled to get into feeding him real food. But I’ll start by or at 6 months.

My daughters pediatrician gave us the okay at her 4 month check up but we waited a week and a half or so after that. We started with plain baby oatmeal for 3 days, then peas for 3 days, and today will be our 3rd day of carrots ☺️ butternut squash is next on the list.  She is doing great with it but is still finding time to play with the food on her tongue but the pediatrician warned us that was normal.

My baby was born at the end of February. She turned 4 months on June 27th. Our pediatrician told us to start with rice cereal for a week. Then baby oatmeal for a week. After that we move into vegetable purées and then fruit purées.
