Period or..?

**Sorry for the really gross picture**

So, days before I was supposed to start my period I kept getting this.

It was like this for I’d say about 3-4 days and I never seen any actual blood, only once I seen some blood but it was a different color than I usually get.

I figured that this was the start of my period because it usually starts like this then I get the actual blood with blood clots and everything but it just stopped.

Could this have been my period just with really dark brown blood the entire time?
