Screaming

My son is almost 1, and for the past couple months he just screams. It’s not the kind of scream where he needs something but like out of nowhere he will just yell at the top of his lungs and it’s the worst thing I have ever heard. It’s ear piercing loud. He does it when he’s playing with anything, or when he’s in his high chair in the middle of eating. It’s starting to get to me because he ALWAYS does it. Is there anything I can do to get him to stop this? I hear it’s just a phase all the time but he’s been doing this scream thing for possibly the last 6 months. Any help would be appreciated.
