Getting husband to put daughter down for naps

Em

We’re currently weaning (she’s almost 2) and so my husband has taken over putting our daughter down for naps. Previously, she would ONLY nap for me because she nursed to sleep. My mom naps her a few days a week too when she watches her. She usually goes down pretty easy for my mom, but she is fighting it so hard with my husband today. He’s been trying for THREE HOURS. She hasn’t cried nonstop...it’s been on and off...but I feel like we’re doing the wrong thing. She’s been crying consistently (and hard to the point of gagging) the past 20 minutes while he’s in there with her. She wants to nurse so badly. Help! I feel so awful 😢 I always want to help her when I can, but I also know she needs to learn to go to sleep for my husband sometimes....right? Parenting is hard. I’m literally crying listening to her right now.

UPDATE: She is now asleep but is doing those quiet little cries in her sleep due to crying so hard. It breaks my heart. Weaning is so difficult.
