How do some people get and early ultrasound?

I told my doctor I was worried about this pregnancy because the last time I was pregnant I had an early miscarriage at 7 weeks. I’m almost 6 weeks and I see that so many other people are able to go in for an ultrasound and see their baby. My doctor said that due to COVID-19 I won’t be able to get an ultrasound until 10 weeks...

I think it mainly depends on the doctor. My doctor does early scans on all patients regardless of miscarriage history. My last pregnancy I got one at 6+5, this pregnancy at 6 exactly.

I lucked out with my OB. My miscarriage was really rough and when she found out I was pregnant again and nervous, she actually requested that I came in for an earlier appointment. 
I think it all depends on the area you’re in (especially with covid) and the doctors themselves.

I would recommend you find another doctor if you have the option. It is so important to have someone who listens, hears, and comforts you throughout the birth and pregnancy process that if you have a fear like this, they should at least try to work with you. If that can't happen, I would recommend finding a third party ultrasound center. They can be very helpful in easing fears although they may not be diagnostic, they can usually tell you if you should talk to your doctor. I hope this helps!

Honestly I would find a doctor that you really like a listens to you. Honestly I’ve heard so many bad stories about doctors who just don’t listen. You shouldn’t have to go thru that 💕

I lost one at 6 weeks last year, doc never seemed concerned enough to do early ultrasounds. I didn’t have any spotting or cramping, or anything that warranted an early ultrasound. Also, there isn’t enough to see on an ultrasound that early. It’s basically the same as a positive result on a pregnancy test. 
Unless you have symptoms that worry you, try not to stress.

I think it’s mainly for people who have had multiple miscarriages. I’ve had three and I will have a 6 week ultrasound.
The ultrasound for the last babe that I lost was not until the end of 7 weeks.

I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks last year, without a longer history of miscarriage or issues my doc wouldnt do anything additional. My 8 week ultrasound just happened to be scheduled a little early due to availability. I was told that "you are doing fine". Not sure about private scans, but I am 24.5wks and doing "fine". Deep breaths, hun, you can get through this.
At a minimum ask for HCG draws to make sure things are tracking (although it starts tapering off between 8-12wks). Another doctors office might do closer to 8 wks btw.
Also...WE HAVE THE SAME NAME! I dont know many adult Tianas.

I had early ultrasound but I was also bleeding with my daughter at 7 weeks and this pregnancy at 6 weeks I have had three miscarriages one at 18 weeks and two around 5-7 weeks. I know it is stressful and you want answers. Talk to your ob/midwife about your concerns. Also see if there are organizations around you that might do one for you. There is a pregnancy center around me that does free pregnancy test and free first ultrasound. Prayers to you and your little bean.

I had a previous mc and experienced bleeding early in this pregnancy so they did ultrasound to find the pregnancy and rule out problems like ectopic

I get one every two weeks but I’ve also had three previous miscarriages. It all depends on your risk factors but most obgyn’s won’t do an ultrasound until 10 weeks anyways because before then the pregnancy is too small to really evaluate.
