Medela and spectra

Hey Mamas,
I've been trying to decide if with baby 2 I want to get the spectra pump over Medela. Has anyone swapped over and loved the decision,I have all the pumping extras for Medela ,have you found conversion pieces easy to find ?

DEFINITELY get the Spectra over Medela. I have both, started with the medela because it was free through insurance but got a spectra because the medela was so loud and felt like it didn’t suck well? If that makes sense. Spectra was soooo much quieter and it didn’t hurt.

I’ve had my spectra s1 for two years now. I LOVE IT.

I used a spectra at home and loved it. Works provided a medela symphony for use on campus. The only benefit to using it was that I didn’t need to bring my pump every day. The medela parts suck to clean, especially compared to the spectra, and it wasn’t nearly as efficient. If we have another baby, I will get another spectra for home and bring my old one to work instead of using the medela there.

I switched and the Spectra made a big difference for me as a underproducer. I was that crazy mom who bought 4 different pumps over the course of a year (1 Medela and another that my insurance sent, 1 fancier Medela and then finally the Spectra). Actually, I rented the Spectra at first from my LC but liked it so much I bought one! The vibration makes it much more comfortable in my opinion.

I have a spectra 2 upstairs and a used medela downstairs at my house, the medela will probably come to work with me whenever that is. 
I don’t notice a difference between suction with the two, however if I were going to buy one over the other, I would get the spectra because:
1. the timer is really useful 
2. the nightlight is also really useful 
3. the parts are easier to clean, but the flanges are harder to get into nursing bras
what I prefer on the medela:
1. you can turn the knob at the start, a major design flaw of the spectra is that it goes right at whatever setting you left off at, after “bacon” mode and at 3 am that’s like WHOA
