Starting baby on baby food

My daughter is almost 5 months. I’ve been giving her tastes of baby food (okayed by her dr). She really just tastes them she doesn’t really know how the spoon works yet. She tries to suck on it like a nipple

I was wondering how old are babies when baby food becomes a substitution for a bottle? Instead of just little tastes. And when can you start little finger foods for them to try?
