Daycare?!

Question

Any April baby mamas have their littles in daycare yet? How has your experience been? I am a teacher and have been off since March. Schools closed when my community only had 50 cases and now it’s 800 new cases a day where I live and school is scheduled to be in person in August. I will go back to the classroom and my baby girl will be in a daycare (that is in a public school). To say I am anxious is an understatement. My husband is giving me the option to stay home a year but finances would be TIGHT. Just hoping to hear some experiences/advice from other mamas.

Mine is in daycare since 8 weeks. He is at the daycare we’ve had our daughter in for almost 2 yrs. so far so good. I know most of the teachers there and we live 10 minutes from it so that’s a relief to be so close.

Even if I hadn't quit my job, my husband would want me to stay home with her for now. He said if she were older, he would want me to homeschool her for this school year. I think she will go crazy being just with me though 😅

My daughter will be starting daycare next month! I am a RN and on maternity leave but I am going back mid August.
she will go to the same daycare my son is in. He’s been there pretty much every day since the pandemic hit (with the exception of the 2 weeks is closed back in April) but we have had no issues. 
Totally understand it’s a hard decision. I felt the same way with my son. I had tons of guilt. The day I dropped him off I sat in my car and cried for 10 min and watched the camera all day lol. But it’s been so good for him socially. And whenever I drop him off he runs away from me at the door and goes straight inside haha. I started him at 9 months. My daughter will be 3.5 months when she starts.
Downside is that your daughter will probably get sick a lot in the beginning. Some kids worse than others. But I truly think they build great immunity from it because my son hasn’t been sick in over 6 months despite being there during the pandemic. Given that I personally think the positives of daycare far outweigh the negatives
