Trump really want kids sick he really want to reopen schools . When they do reopen schools I’m not sending my kids I don’t want my kids getting the rona... are y’all sending y’all kids back to school if trumps reopen schools back up ???

I think it’s stupid. All’s it’ll take is for one kid to spread it to other kids and staff and then they will bring it home and spread it further. My kids are not school aged yet, but if they were I’d be keeping them home.  No way in hell would I send them.

I feel like it’s way too early, especially with the numbers rising. Luckily our school system is giving us the option to do virtual schooling.

Our schools are reopening in the fall. 
We had 13 cases total in our county and no new cases since May. 
We also don’t have the funding or resources necessary to provide remote schooling. Most people that go to schools here live out in BFE with no access to WiFi. Schools can’t stay closed forever. We can’t just pause our children’s education for a year. Imagine what that would mean for the seniors especially? 
Some places can handle opening schools right now, others can’t. The ones that can’t should stay closed to in-person classes.

He’s an idiot on many levels, one being his lack of comprehension for how the public school system works and what he can and cannot do. 
He can’t withhold federal funding. Congress decides that. The House passed that $58 billion of the $3 trillion coronavirus relief package go to schools. Waiting on the Senate to take it up. Less than 10% of school funding is federal. The rest comes from state and local budgets, which means any cuts in federal funding would mostly impact low income schools. Unlikely the House would support such measures. 
He cannot use the CDC to force schools to have face to face instruction. The CDC is not going to revise their guidelines. The manner in which school returns this fall is a state and local decision that, hopefully, is rooted in science.

I won't be sending mine. Im due Sept 12th and won't take a chance with them going and catching it and then coming home to infect a newborn. Plus my inlaws, who we do see on a regular basis have asthma and diabetes so we want to be able to continue to see them safely without risking anyone's health. The kids are bummed as they are starting 7th and 9th grade and have been anxious to see their friends and start a new chapter of their lives but they understand why.

I think opening every thing in general was a shit idea. Other countries stayed closed and their cases are way lower but half of Americans want to whine and bitch about not getting their hair cut or going to bars so now our cases are higher

its way too early kids are so nasty and teachers shouldnt have to be put at risk just like kids shouldnt have to be put at risk. Even if they "sanitize" the schools once a week in between classes, even with distance learning. Kids are horrible nasty little things sometimes theyll just spit and cough spread germs EVERYWHERE. It just isnt safe for anybody involved, the children, the parents, the teachers and staff. Especially not the janitors.
