Do you change your babies WET diaper during the night when up for a feed?

My little one is 8 weeks old and wakes after 6-7hrs and I have been given advise not to change her nappy when she wakes for a bottle to keep her in sleep mode, unless it’s a poo.

Absolutely. Change them first, then feed, so they go right back to sleep

What I do is when they wake up I change them first (don’t turn on the lights, keep it quiet) then I feed and swaddle & back to bed. If I didn’t change him he would be soaked because he pees a lot.

Definitely change your baby, whether it’s wet or poopy. Whenever I wake up in the middle of the night with my son, the first thing I do is change his diaper. That way, even if it wakes him up a little, I can put him to bed easily once he begins eating. Drinking his bottle and when I breastfed too makes him relaxed and sleepy. You just have the keep the room dark or dimly lit and don’t try to play or converse much with your baby. I have a salt lamp in the room, so I keep it on most of the night, and I use a white noise machine all night. Sometimes my son will poop mid feeding too. So I’ll actually stop feeding him, change him, and then finish the bottle before putting him down. He’ll stay sleepy 90% of the time. Even when he doesn’t stay sleepy, all it takes is a bit of rocking and singing or shushing noises to help soothe him to sleep again.

Always. If not he'd end up tossing and turning or crying for a change soon after. I always just kinda thought, I wouldn't want to sleep in a wet diaper all night, so why would they? Lol

If they're awake anyways, change the diaper then feed. That way they won't get yeast or diaper rash.

I always changed her when she woke up for feedings when she was that little. She was already awake. I change first, feed, and then back to sleep. Now that she's almost a year and a half if she sleeps through the night I'm obviously not going to wake her. But if she wakes up at all and she doesn't go back down easily I will change her since she's already awake at that point

At that age yes. At 3 months we started doing nighttime diapers and only changed if he was very wet.
