I’m in a glass case of emotion

I posted the other day about how our social distancing approved outdoor shower was canceled. MIL lives out of state so her and a friend were planning it. My friend was handling everything up here like the invites because MIL couldn’t. Either no one was responding to our invites or everyone my MIL contacted was saying no. It was a surprise shower for me of sorts and all I did was the guest list. 

•I found out out it was being canceled on Sunday before church after MIL sent out an email to notify people. I was upset and kind of angry. MIL and my friend were planning it.

•Monday I talked to my friend on Monday after she got home from vacation. She said she had no idea about canceling the shower but MIL says they talked about it at length on Friday before.

•I started contacting people and everyone said they never got an invite. I was told by my friend that they were getting mailed out the end of June for a shower date of August 7th. Then on Monday she said she mailed them out July 7th before she went on another vacation. Which is cutting it really close.

•Yesterday my phone and email have been blowing up with people telling they’re NOW receiving invites and they’re all post marked July 20th.

I try to not assume thing and keep an open mind but ladies these hormones got me so upset. Not over having a shower but because I feel like I was lied to and since my friend won’t answer my calls/texts, it hurts. My brother passed in June and the shower was something they were planning to help cheer me up. MIL and DH have been scrambling to try and make something out of the mess but it seems to far gone.

With every phone call and email of people getting the invites for a now canceled shower. It’s super embarrassing. 😔
