More words said at daycare?

I got a progress report from our daycare yesterday which stated my daughter says “ball”, “more”, “no”, and “please” but I’ve never once heard her say those words. Is it possible that she’s truly saying more words at daycare than at home with us?

Sometimes people who work closely with small children pick up those first words faster because they are in tune with hearing them. Sometimes all mom and dad year are the coos. 🤷🏻‍♀️ even if they say the same amount of words. Those first words aren’t always clear.

Definitely possible. Kids tend to talk more when they’re not around mommy because they have to. Their fusses and whines and grunts aren’t as effective to someone who isn’t mommy so they speak up.

My friend takes her dtr to an at home daycare and she was so excited to tell the lady that her dtr says “bye bye” and the lady replied that she’s been saying it for weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️ kids are weird

Could she be signing them and they just said she said them? Those are common signs to use at a daycare. Also possible it’s not clear and she’s saying “ba” for ball. If they are trying to say ball and say “ba” it counts.
