I have worked as a nanny with infants for many years and I usually experience phantom cries with each job I have. I’ll think I hear the baby crying when I’m off work and riding the train, like omg is baby Emma on this train? 😆

Yes! I feel like maybe I took it worse than other moms but my son was (and still is) SO hard to get to sleep, to stay asleep, and to sleep for more than 7 hours. Now he usually only wakes up once at night about an hour after bed but I will wake up 4 different times a night thinking I hear him. and the thought of him starting another bad sleeping habit or waking up for a second time terrifies me.

I have worked with kids for years and sometimes I would try to go to sleep and hear my students yelling, crying, and calling my name 😂 it’s not PTSD but it is definitely annoying

I hear them all the time at work or when I'm home. I dont have any biological children but I do have God babies and each one, I swear I can hear him . Its not PTSD , but Phantom cries are real lol .

I wouldn’t call it PTSD, but...
My daughter was such a difficult newborn. She was so demanding all day. She could stand to be out of my arms for more than a minute or two. And it was so difficult to get her to fall asleep for both naptime and bedtime. Getting her to fall asleep could take me hours to do; every time. Seriously, they were the most difficult 3 months of my life.
Even now, if she has like, 2 difficult nights of sleep in a row (and when I say difficult I just mean like her waking up once and needing to be rocked back to sleep, that’s how good of a sleeper she is now), I’ll start to get really anxious on the third night. Also, even now, 2 years later, if I hear the music from her baby gym, it just gives me the willies and just makes me think of that super difficult summer.
