Every day. You need 6 temps before ovulation to confirm it. And since you don't know when that will be, you need to record every day.

When I first started tracking, I took my temp every single day cd 1 to cd 1. After a year of that, now when I track, I only temp from cd 1 until ovulation is confirmed at 3/4 dpo. Your temps can't tell you anything after that except to tip you off to if you'll get your period if your temps drop 12+dpo.
