TMI - Vagina Mucus

So I wanted your guys thoughts on what this is?? I'll likely see about a dr appt but wanted make sure if I should be worried or not.
Last night started spotting so thought period was starting, so today put tampon in just in case cause didn't want it to start really flowing while at work. Got home and took out and had this weird discharge on it. Super sticky, mix of clumpy and thick, like a yellow green color. Assume infection?
