I don't know what to do.

I've been talking to this guy for a while now and we've never really called before. About a week ago my friend told me that he's a player and only dates to look cool and for their bodies. He's a really sweet guy and said all the right things but after thinking it over I've realized that he only talks to me about sex. He's asked a few times about me personally and getting to know me but it's very rare. I've tried distancing myself but it only makes him more persistent. He asked to call me later but I'm so uncomfortable with that idea I feel nauseous. I don't know what to do or how to let him down easy. I'm not one for hurting anyone's feelings or leading them on but I can't bring myself to tell him I'm not interested. Have i got it all wrong? Is he actually interested in having a genuine relationship or is he playing me? Any advice??
