Everyone should teach their child this

PSA to anyone who is around my child...

If she says “penis” or “vagina” when referring to the body parts DO NOT correct her and tell her to call them “privates” or whatever “cute” name you have made up for it. DO NOT tell her she shouldn’t be saying those words just because they might offend you or someone else. DO NOT make her feel like she is in trouble for saying those words either. I have taught her the correct words for those body parts for a reason. Knowing the terminology may make children less vulnerable to sexual abuse; prospective offenders may understand that children who are comfortable with the right names for body parts are children whose parents are willing to discuss these subjects, and children who probably will have been told about the kinds of touching that are not okay. So please, stop making my child feel like she is in the wrong because she can say words half of you adults can’t even say without laughing. Thank you.
