Neighbor complaints

So , I’ve been living in my apartment for about 2 years now... never complained, never been complained on.

I’m a smoker , so I smoke on my balcony. (2nd floor)

Ever since I moved in , my sliding door has been kinda loud ... it isn’t broken, it isn’t off the tracks, it never bothered me .. it’s just heavy and loud and so is the person above me, their door is the same way... even when the person below us opens their door it’s loud we can hear it.

I never complained about the door from the person above me I lived under them when I was pregnant to when my son was 5 months and then they moved out & they went outside 3-4 tomes almost every hour because of their kids.

This person moved in maybe a month ago and had made 3 complaints... maintenance has come knocking on my door demanding to see my sliding glass door and to make sure it’s working and it is ....

My fiancé is a Cop for another city and his best friend is a cop in the city we’re living in SO IM not worried if he complains and calls the cops on us... BUT

Am I wrong for going outside on MY BALCONY WHEN I WANT TO?!

Like what TF can I even do about the sliding door !? I’m tored of this mother fucker knocking on my door.

To make sure it’s clear, this guy has knocked on my door 2 times ...

First time Friday at 6pm “can you guys keep it down, it sounds pretty loud up here... ”

Second time Monday around 9pm “hmm are you guys like moving furniture or something becsuse it seems late for that”

Third time maintenance comes at 8am forcing to look at this shit.
