Does sex help induce labor?

Hello ladies, so I’m 36 and 5 days pregnant, I had my appt this week, I’m 1cm dilated and doctor said to wait to have sex at least till 38 weeks, does sex really induce labor or why did she say to wait? and baby is already in good position, everything is going good. Any opinions ?

Sex will only work if the baby is ready to start making its way out, it won't bring on pre-term labour ☺️

Till 37 weeks the baby is considered premature. Oxytocin=hormone released during sex is promoting labour. Actually I was injected that one through IV to make mine faster.

No. Sex doesn’t do anything. I made til past 41 weeks with first and now this one I’m 38 weeks and nothing.

On my first we had sex and a few hours later my waters broke. I’d lost my plug the day before so I think there’s something to it if you’re body is gearing up for labour. I was 39 weeks.
