What would you do

Question

So i had an ultrasound to measure baby at 34 weeks, they told me she was measuring big that i had options c-section or induction, but they didnt want to pressure me because they want to see me again to measure again, i will be 37 weeks when i have that appointment, what would you do if they told you your baby was still big would you be induced or just try to have the baby normal till the baby is ready? Im trying to avoid c-section because i have a 2 year old and wont get maternity leave and dont have any help..

I was going to say the exact same as some of the other ladies here. But I just read your comment to Autumn and I think if I had to chose, I'd chose the induction so there would still be a chance to give birth naturally. If I needed a c-section then so be it but I wouldn't have that as my first option

That seems strange. Unless you're high risk, I don't see why you shouldn't just wait for labor.

I would wait. Measuring a baby in the womb isn't an exact Science and they are often off on weights etc. Unless you are high risk I would wait for nature to take its course.

I would let the baby come naturally.  I think doctors try to control their schedules more than anything.

I'm in a similar position following shoulder dystocia in previous birth. I'm in the UK and my consultant is happy to let me deliver naturally though has given me the option of c section if I choose. They released baby relatively easily using standard techniques and she had a great APGAR score so perhaps ask about these things before deciding. I'm hoping to avoid induction as this increases the risk of baby getting stuck but will choose to deliver naturally rather than c section. I've done a lot of research to help me decide and am still not convinced 100% but would recommend the Evidence Based Birth website and doing lots of research from reliable sources to help you have a conversation and come to a decision. You could also consider birthing position - being on all fours opens up the pelvis to give baby more room to get out.

I personally would do c section. And that’s what I did when both mine measured big 🤷🏻‍♀️
