Do you let your 4 year old take a bath alone

My daughter is very independent. I don't usually leave her in the bath alone and often get onto my husband for doing it. So I'm just looking for other opinions.

I am with you. My daughter is only two right now but I don’t care how independent she is at 4, that’s still too young to be left alone in the bath I think.

I respect privacy if she asks and sit in the hallway with the door open. We do help with washing though because what 4 year old scrubs right?

No never. Not ever. It’s too young. The number 1 reason for toddler/preschools dying is drowning and I will never risk it.

No,I wouldnt...I remember when I was young I was playing and slid off the back of the tub and somehow busted my face🤦‍♀️Couldve knocked myself out and drowned

Comment to add: We never just leave her in the tub. Our bathroom is upstairs and he'll come downstairs to tell me something or whatever and I'm just like uhh no. I'll leave her in the tub by herself to grab a towel right outside the door or to get her brother dressed right across the hall (you can see the tub from his room). She is starting to ask for privacy by not wanting us in the bathroom while she's going potty and she does ask if she can play by herself in the tub. Thank you for all the feedback so far!

99.9% of the time, a 4yo will be fine in the bath by themselves, they’ll just sit there and play happily. The danger is if they move around in the tub to get something, and slip and go under on their back, it could be difficult for them to get themselves back up again. I’ll leave my 4yo to grab a towel, or to get my 2yo undressed in the next room, but when I do, I get her to keep talking or sing to me, so I can hear her voice

My 4 yr old takes showers by himself it's hard to get him to actually want to sit in a bath tub but he is very independent I just make him leave the door open and he sings the entire time so Ill know if I don't hear him something is wrong

No because I’m worried about him standing up and forgetting he has to stay sitting down or kneeling... I was in a bad accident with the tub when I was little, have a big scar around my lip and knocked teeth out

Mine will be 4 soon. We help him get washed up and sometimes he wants to play by himself so we’ll sit right outside the bathroom with the door open so we can still see and hear him.

I didn’t let my old boys bathe only until 6 or 7. They were taking showers by this age. I would wait in the hall until they got in and then stand in bathroom until they were about to get out. Still plenty privacy for them but I feel a shower is a safer option. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I assisted with their showers until they were old enough to clean themselves well enough on their own around kindergarten age. 
A 4 year old alone in a tub of water just sounds terrifying to me.
