IUD removal ?

So I have had my iud for about a yr and a half and it’s fine no per what’s so ever but it’s been feeling painful lately more so during and after sex , I’d like to try the pill next ? Any advise ? I do not plan on getting preg anytime soon and I think I’d be fine w taking pill everyday ... does it hurt to get it taken out ?

Doesn’t hurt at all to have it taken out. Just make sure you can be consistent with the pill, especially if you don’t want to get pregnant.

Mine was trying to go through my uterine wall, had to have it removed(ER). It was super painful, the experience not the removal. Removal is way better than getting it inserted! There was a little pinch when my Dr pulled it out. I had residual pain because my uterus had been being stabbed for about a week, it was bruised/cut, but my cervix was fine! I don’t think there would have been any pain afterward had it not migrated the way it did.
Also, I was pregnant within 2weeks if getting it removed. If you don’t want to be pregnant I would suggest abstaining￼ from intercourse for a couple of weeks while your body adjusts to your new BC.

If you can handle insertion then you can handle removal. I’m not even slightly worried about getting mine removed in 5 years. I’m way more nervous about having another one put back in. Everyone says hurts way more going in vs coming out

I would get checked to see if it's in place. 
I personally don't trust the pill because it's so easy to mess up and get pregnant. I would use condoms too if you were on the pill
