Might switch?? Need advice

I’ve had nexplanon for 3 years now, and it’s technically time to replace it with a new one - however, I’ve had some issues with it. I really loved it for a while just bc of how easy it was, but in feb of last year I had my period for 40 days - I went to the dr to get it out, and her response was to put me on Nuvaring on top of it to make it stop. Then I didn’t have another one until recently, and I was on my period from May 2nd until July 29th. I’m also concerned that it’s making my skin bad :( I don’t know if I should just switch to Nuvaring completely? Has anyone tried both and what are the pros/cons?
