Anxiety and a dog?

My MIL is wanting to give us a puppy because we have a 6 month old and thinks he will enjoy it. But my anxiety is awful with germs and the thought of a dog walking on a floor where my baby will probably put his mouth and where he touches and puts his hands in his mouth. How do you deal with that? I really hope with my next baby my anxiety will calm down. Any suggestions on how to chill out?

Editing to say a few months ago I decided to have a “no shoes inside the house” rule because of my germaphobia. lol
