Friend Told Me About *kinda* Sexual Assault..? TW

So last night I was pretty drunk with all my friends and we got talking about sex. We’ll call this girl Vanessa. We’re really close and as far as I’m concerned she hasn’t gone past fingering, which is totally fine we’re only 19 there’s no rush.

But, we were talking about masturbation and she was like “I’ve never done it and never wanted to do it...I guess I’m just disconnected from sex”. Also, totally fine. I asked why she feels disconnected, considering she hasn’t experienced things.

Then she told me she HAD had sex, with a guy and a girl before. When she was TWELVE. I was so so so so shocked. She explained what had happened...they were her neighbours. The boy was the same age, the girl was a couple of years older. She said they’d come over and they got curious as kids do and it went far.

She hasn’t told anyone. She said after it affected her for years and she was quite traumatised by it, but insists she’s had so much time to process things she doesn’t count is as losing her virginity (understandably!) and tries to forget about it.

She thinks they were maybe exposed to sexual abuse or explicit content and may have copied/wanted to act out what they learned which I think is more than likely.

Vanessa says she’s fine but now that we’re sober I want to message her offering my support...but I don’t know if that’s out of pocket? What would I say?

Also the reason I say *kinda* sexual assault is this girl and boy were literally children, they wouldn’t have wanted to inflict any harm to Vanessa so I don’t want to label them as villains.
