Do mice exterminators work?

Question

Do they work because two people told me they won’t do anything different than what I do and will charge me a bunch of money. I want to make sure because this will be coming from our savings for a new car and for our baby (pregnant). I’m sick of these mice!

I went, stubbornly, 9 months without calling an exterminator. I tried everything. Everything. These mice were freakin smart. Biggest mistake ever. The day I called one and he came in, the mice were gone within a week. 
It just depends on how bad the problem has gotten and how. 
I searched around and the guy I called said he doesn’t understand how other people charge so much for this service. Good luck and I hope you get them out soon.

I read a lot on this when I had a mice problem. I decided to go against using an exterminator because I read that once they spray the house, the mice can die between the walls and the smell is horrible. I can say from experience that you do not want a mouse to die in your walls! The smell was awful for a week+. Once we found where they were coming from inside we used the large black sticky traps to catch them. They worked insanely well and we were able to get rid of all them.
