Any of you have a painful ovulation?

Ever since I started my first period as a preteen, I always had ovulation pain (mittelschmerz). Sometimes it's worse than others, and I have to stop what I'm doing and lie down for an hour or so. I'll usually get it for 2 days. Like I'd get it for an hour or so one day, and it'll come back the next day for the same time. I always feel it on one side and it alternates every month, probably coinciding with the ovary I ovulate from. Obviously, it went away when I got on the pill. And it came back when I got off so my husband and I could conceive. I have 2 kids now, my second one being 5 months, and I got off bc temporarily for other health reasons and man! I feel it right now. I had my first postpartum period 2 weeks ago, so I'm confident I'm ovulating. But it's so excruciating, I had to go lie down and take some pain killers. I rarely get it this bad, but sometimes I do. It's the same pain level as menstrual cramps, though sometimes worse. It makes me wonder if this is a legit concern. Anybody know? I mean, I've had 2 babies naturally. It took 4 months of active ttc to get my first and 5 months to get my second. So it makes me think nothing is really wrong, it's just that I get painful ovulation. But if it's this bad, does it mean there's something wrong? I've always had regular cycles too, between 25 and 28 days. I'll be bringing this up to my obgyn when I see her in a couple months for my physical.
