Bruising after a heavy period

I just had a crazy heavy period. My periods have been heavy ever since I had my son a year ago. I just finished my period and today I noticed I have small bruises on my arm and leg. They are minor bruises but I usually don’t bruise easily. I just had a complete blood count done a month ago and everything was normal. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow so I plan to mention it to her, but just wondering if it could possibly be from having such a heavy period?
