Homemade baby food?

Question

Has anyone ever made their own baby food? 
I’m growing a fruit and vegetable garden and plan on making purées and juices for my son. 
Has anyone ever tried this method? If so how did it turn out? 
I feel a lot better knowing what exactly is in my child’s food and juices rather than “organic” store bought, ya know? 
I still have 5 months till my little one comes and plenty of time after that to prepare. I just want as much advice as I can get!

I feel like it’s more common for parents to make their own purées or just do baby led weaning now than it is to buy baby food. Loads of YouTube videos and blogs out there for recipes and how-to’s

We did baby lead weaning at 6 months and our son learned real fast strawberries come from plants! I'm pregnant and I've been too tired to really garden but we've introduced a bunch of fruit and vegetables cut appropriately. Hard things sheamed, sautéed, or baked.

Super easy! Whenever I steamed vegetables I just made enough to also purée for a few bottles of baby food.

This is a good idea cant believe you grew vegetables thats good! I did it with organic fruit and veggies from store but this is better. My son loved the natural fruit mainly because they add acidic vitamin c to their baby foods. My son when I first gave it to him he would make a face and when I tasted the baby food im like what the? This is sour soo i decided to make my own baby food. Babies dont eat much maybe 2 oz in the beginning so it was very easy to do. Dont be scared to mix a little veggies with the fruit take advantage that they eat almost anything at this age lollll

I think its a wonderful idea. You can completely control amount of sugar and eliminate all unhealthy ingredients. You can then freeze them in ice cube trays.  Im starting to make stuff from scratch and its so much healthier!

My son is 14 months and I have cooked all his food from the beginning. I of course learnt and perfected this as I went. 
The first time they eat food, they want very smooth. Mine had crumps and he cried the whole meal. It is so doable, freeze the remaining meals. My challenge was once I cooked single veg foods, since I didn't want to feed him the same everyday, I cooked 5 times before I had a enough in the freezer to switch it up. Once he was ready to have multiple vegetables in a single meal, I just unfrozen different cubes and mixed the meals. ( This meant I had to freeze the vegs in smaller amounts and the mixture added up to the amount he would eat.)
With time I started just mixing the vegetables while cooking and puréed it all together. And then with time, I just stopped pureeing and just chopped them into small cubes. As you can tell, I never used baby led weaning nor let my son feed himself until he was ready to actually put the food in his own mouth. 
I have bought him Joghurt and snacks but as for the food, I cook it all. And make him smoothies. Ps. On days he doesn't like to eat, I just give him vegetable smoothies which fill him up as well.
