Did you become depressed after your gestational diabetes diagnosis?

I was just diagnosed a few days ago.
Haven’t even started monitoring my blood yet and still don’t know if I’ll need medication or insulin.
I’ve cried everyday for the past 5 days and feel incredibly depressed.
I’m also terrified it will never go away and this will be my life forever now.
Please tell me I’m not alone!

This is nothing to cry over, unless you already had it the likely hood of it coming back is low. I had it with 2 out of 3 kids and it has gone away each time! I needed insulin with my last baby because I couldn’t get it under control but it was gone by the time I left the hospital.
You won’t be put on insulin unless you can’t keep it under control with your diet. It’s not really hard to do! I didn’t really change my diet with my first I just stopped drinking sugary drinks like sodas, icees/slurped, juices and all the other drinks.
My third I changed it slightly but stopped drinking soda as well and I was ok! It’s is vary common and most of the people think they can control getting it and some can’t even if you are fit.... you’ll be ok

Girl no. Mine went away right after. And I probably have it again this time. It does mean it was underlying tho. That you might get it later on bc pregnancy brought it out in you. But it honestly wasn't that bad! I ate right and actually lost weight! (I'm fat doc said it's normal if overweighr) and baby wasn't huge or anything crazy! Don't stress and I can give food tips if you need! Limit carbs and sugar and you'll be just fine!

Definitely nothing to cry over, at all. It’s a change in diet, possibly medication.....it’s really not a big deal.

It’s a hormonal trigger issue and it’s not something to cry or worry about. It’s very manageable.

I had it 3 of my 4 pregnancies and yeah it went away and everything was fine. And I cried when I had it with my first as well. But it really wasn't as big a deal as I made it out to be. And they'll scare you to make sure you comply, because some just don't take it seriously at all. But my biggest GD baby was only 7.5 pounds full term, no issues
