Zofran?

Question

My doctor prescribed me Zofran(Odansetron) for my nausea, and I’ve heard some women say they won’t take it because of the risk of birth defects? Everything I’ve read by the CDC says that there really isn’t any evidence that it amplifies any risks.
Ladies who took/take Zofran has everything been okay?
Just curious! I’m gonna take it to try and see if it helps, but I wanna hear real stories!

My doctor didn’t prescribe it for me because of the studies I think in Sweden that linked it to birth defects with my last pregnancy. I’m glad she told me because I would t have known.

My doctor told me they dont like giving it before 12 weeks because it can cause cleft palate before 12 weeks

I took it my entire first trimester. No defects

I took it with my third pregnancy and it didn’t work for me so I didn’t bother finishing the script. Anytime I’ve been prescribed it I’ve never picked it up because it doesn’t work for me

Took it with my daughter who will be 3 in Dec because she gave me HG and was hospitalized twice shes 100% fine! 
Taking it here and there with #2 and hes fine.

I took it with all of my pregnancies and had no problems. However, it can cause constipation so make sure you take a stool softener if you take it. It works really well for the nausea. It’s also the most common medicine given to patients in the hospital when they’re pregnant and come in dehydrated because they can’t stop vomiting.
