What Birth Control is best?

So I’m thinking trying a Birth Control other than condoms so I was thinking to try the Shot which cover for 3 months but I want to hear opinions... does it give you side effects? 
I’m concerned about gaining weight since I’m trying to loose weight...

Shot only put 10 pounds on me. I loved it but am switching back to the pill cus I had less acne on the pill and my period would last a few weeks during the last month of the shot.

I had the shot and I didn’t have a period for 3 months. Some people would like that, but not having a period constantly made me take pregnancy tests. I also gained 12 pounds because it made me think I was always hungry! Its very effective but definitely weigh out your options and which side effects you are willing to put up with.
