Who’s wrong?

So we just found out I’m pregnant. We have a two bed and bath. My boyfriend has a game room. But now since we’re having a baby I think his game room should turn into a baby room. He thinks we just need the baby in the room with just a crib and if I need to rock the baby I could do it in the living room. IMO I thought that was selfish and we should have a baby room which would be the best for all of us but mostly the baby IMO. But maybe I’m wrong.

The first 6 months at least your baby should be in a bassinet in parents room but you probably don’t want to be sharing a room forever. It’s just nice for baby to have their room eventually

Um. Babies need a lot more than a crib.

Even if the baby is in a crib in your room while they sleep, you still need other furniture for them! Diaper table, dresser for clothes, storage for diapers/wipes, etc. Its just not practical to keep it a game room

I would keep the baby in the room for a while honestly... but I would definitely convert the game room into a nursery and I’d get the painting out of the way before the baby is in the house. 
Because of fumes. I’d tell him he can keep his game room for X amount of time but the conversion needs to start now.

You should have a nursery but the baby should also be in the crib in your room for the first year.

Oops i meant to press HE is wrong. I believe kids need to be with their parents at first but soon they need to be in their own room. My parents kept me in their room and i couldn’t sleep alone until i was 12! It’s super embarrassing but i was terrified to be in my own room because i was  comfortable just being with my parents in their room. Please don’t make that same mistake my parents did.

It sounds like he is in a little bit of denial on how a baby changes things 😂 my babies were always in their own rooms in cribs from night one, .. but even if they were in our room for the start, you need a place to store their supplies and clothing, and it makes it a lot easier on everyone if there is a quiet and baby friendly place to take them for diaper changes, feedings, and playing .. and they will eventually be sleeping there anyway. It sounds like your SO just needs to do a little personal growth and realize your baby is now a priority over other things. That’s life. Congratulations!! 🍾🎉
