She has her upcoming 18 month appointment. There's so much pressure to meet these milestones. She is meeting every other milestone except for the coloring. She will sometimes tap the marker on the paper but get bored and walk away. Lol

I have a masters in child development and I promise you coloring isn't a milestone 😂  and at 18 months, her hands aren't even fully developed yet. She has years before she'll be able to correctly hold a crayon. She's not behind in any way.

My daughter was always like that and she Is six now and still doesn’t really like coloring. She likes to draw, but she hates to color.￼

Don't worry, coloring isn't really a milestone.  It's basically just something they ask about to check on  the development of motor skills. They don't expect at that age to hold crayons right or stay in the lines or anything like that.  It's more of does she scribble when you scribble or does she know what crayons are for kind of thing.

My LO just turned 21 months and loves coloring now. At 18 months she didn’t really care for it much. We got her into hand painting canvases and drawing with her with bigger crayons with a wider tip and she started to pick up on it. Now she absolutely loves it!
