Breastfeeding / formula question

Tee

If you don’t have milk coming in immediately, will you use formula in the time being? I was very slow and didn’t get to establish breastfeeding last pregnancy unfortunately. He was on the bottle almost immediately, which had me a little sad.

Now that I bought myself a pump and we don’t live with my in laws and won’t have visitors I can do what I can to up my supply. But within the first couple of days to a week, I think I will need a back up just in case. I’ve watched plenty of YouTube videos on pumping for 20, resting, pumping 10, resting and so on. So hopefully that works.

EDIT: Thanks ladies, I didn’t actually know colostrum would be enough, they didn’t mention that last time and I didn’t ask. I know I’ve got that coming in as I check each shower 😂 hope it sticks around.
