100% online schooling...right decision or not?

I have a fourth grader, last year of elementary. My husband and I are living with my MIL who is on chemo for bone cancer, and we are her primary care givers. We chose 100% online schooling because we don’t feel comfortable with the chances of bringing the virus in the household. We have been basically quarantined since early March. School needed an answer by July from families on whether they wanted 100% online schooling, or hybrid. At the time, I felt as 100% online was the right choice. But now I’m second guessing my every decision! Tell me I’m not alone here?! 
Here’s why...
1) daughter will not be finishing elementary with her peers that she was with last year. The majority of her peers chose hybrid because they wanted to stay consistent...Consistency is what I should have focused on!
2) isolation is hitting hard! At what point does one family risk the chance of getting this virus just to keep their mental health and social skills afloat?! 
I might just be having a mental break down...help!

I think online school is what's best for you guys at the moment there's always next year and the years to come it's not worth the risk

I’m in the same boat except my husband has asthma and only one kidney so we didn’t want to risk my son (also in grade 4) bringing it home.  He’s sad because all his friends are going back and he loved school.   I’m worried that I’ve ruined his social life by doing this.   Also since this whole pandemic my son has developed an attitude and I’m sure it’s because he’s always at home with me.

This is so hard. My pediatrician told me even with a 3 month old in the house she was okay with my son going back because no one in our household is high risk. She told me she was advising families with someone who is high risk in the household to keep their child home. It also comes down to what the school is doing. Masks are required all day, kids are eating lunch in the classrooms, no playground, hand sanitizing stations everywhere and they have even marked the floors to show 6ft. I feel like no matter what decision any of us make in this situation we are all going to second guess. Nothing could have prepared any of us to have to make these types of decisions.

Do what’s best for your family! 
Online school through the county seems to be stressing parents out sooo badly, that many are homeschooling and using a self pacing online program. That way they don’t have to deal with teachers, bad technology, and the counties weird ass way of handling the situation. If my daughter was in 4th grade, I would pull her and homeschool with an online program and supplement a little with reading and basic everyday tasks. 
Either way, you do what’s best!! Don’t stress yourself out over this. It’ll all work out in the end.
