Small house with 4 + kids?

Question

Any other families out there have a smaller house with 4 kids? My husband and I have a 4 bedroom (not super small) house and we have 3 children now. Ages 4 1/2, 3, and 1. They all have their own room right now. We really are considering having another baby, but unfortunately our youngest son (18 months) would have to share his room when baby would be closer to one. Our plan is in about 5-6 years to get a bigger house. So this would not be a permanent situation. This has been our biggest stipulation on having another child or not. Thoughts on this? Anyone else in a similar situation?

I thinks totally fine for young kids to share a room.  It’s those pre-teen and teen years that I feel like kids do best with their own space.

I grew up in a 2 bedroom one bath duplex with my parents and 3 siblings. We were fine.

I gerw up in an appartment and we had a living room and a bedroom. I don't think I had a bad childhood. So I don't think kids need own rooms. That is just a social norm. Yes, now I believe, if possible, kids should have own room. But like kids room, not own for all but one for all.

My ex grew up in a small three bedroom one bathroom house with his parents and his 6 siblings. Your situation is totally doable

Have the kid- sharing a room isn’t the end of the world, I shared a room with three of my siblings, then two, then four again, then one- never had my own room as I moved in with my so straight out of my parents. Your youngest will still have their own room some day, as your oldest will be five years older which means they’ll likely move out eventually before your youngest. Especially if your plan is to buy bigger in the future. Honestly your toddler will not care that much.

I think siblings sharing rooms (same sex for many reasons) is a good way of learning how to share.

I do not have four kids.. I do have 2 kids and my husband and I live in a very small 2 bedroom duplex.. we are wanting to move somewhere bigger soon. Good luck :)

If there are plans to move in the future it is ok. You might have some trouble if you newborn baby wakes up too much at night and your toddler is a light sleeper, you will have two cranky, sleepy kids all day long. 
Here we share 1 bedroom between 4 of us. Everyone is stressed out due to no personal space, no privacy and theres not one day where there isnt a fight. It's pretty toxic. It honestly sucks and I can't wait to move out and never come back.

My parents had 3 kids in a 3 bedroom. I shared a room until i moved out. It really wasn't a big deal. When I was little I loved it. In my teen years I would have liked my own space, but it also wasn't a big issue.
