Car broken into nothing stolen??

My car was broken into last night. It was parked in my driveway in a subdivision. Pretty sure it was left unlocked there was no sign of forced entry and sometimes when I have my baby and bags I forget to lock it so lesson learned. Anyway they didn’t take anything. Just trashed the car emptied my glove box and centre console which had receipts gifts ray ban sunglasses ect..but didn’t take anything? Anyone had this happen. Apparently my whole block got hit and there is some video footage of him just opening random cars. I’m think ge was looking for drugs or money but why not take the gift cards?

The window on my Jeep has been cut a number of times with useless shitbag addicts looking for drug money. They pull all my CDs out, throw the box of tissues around, pull the owners manual out of the glove box 🙄 it’s fucking obnoxious, especially when they could just unzip the window and save me $125 each time. I despise addicts.

Who knows what they were looking for… We have a guy in my neighborhood who gets into cars to look for loose change. I caught him in my car one morning and called the police and she told me there’s someone in the area going through cars taking loose change.￼￼ Maybe they were just dumb and didn’t realize he could sell those gift cards or was just looking for money that they could use right away on the street, so a gift card would not be helpful￼. Anyway, ever since then, I always make sure I lock my doors because I’m not even sure if it was locked or not… I also don’t leave anything in my car, like nothing at all! I don’t leave any loose change visible in the center console or anything like that. The only visible thing that gets left in my car is my daughters car seat. That’s it!

Maybe they were looking for a spare key. In my town we’ve had about 6 stolen cars in the past month with a large amount of vehicle break ins. Which in a small town is a lot. All the stolen cars had a spare key “hidden” inside the car 🤦🏻‍♀️.

I’ve had my car broken into before, and nothing taken. Probably just people searching for anything worth taking. But I don’t really leave anything worth much in my car. 
Our area had quite a lot of car break ins at one point.

We had the same issue when we first moved into a new about about seven years ago. We were housesharing and they broke into three of our cars but literally took nothing. I wouldn't question it but rather be happy they didn't take anything... Problem are nasty.
