If you were sexually assaulted and had no proof at all is there a point in going to the police?

Yes but it will be hard to prove. That’s why I didn’t do it

I would say yes, because there may be other forms of proof that you may not have thought of. The perpetrator may also have committed similar crimes before, so you reporting it can help further a case against the perp. The police should be able to tell you if they can prosecute the case with the evidence they can find. They may also be able to provide a referral to a counselor trained to work with sexual assault survivors. Sometimes it can help people feel better to make the report, rather than not say anything at all.

Yes there is DNA and forensic evidence they can detect that you can’t. Report it.
