Who is having/had a natural birth?

I am going for a home birth and am due in two days! My first baby was an induction and I relied heavily on gas and air. My midwives don’t do gas and air with home births so I am a little nervous! Any advice on handling it?

Breathe through the contractions and know that pain is a part of the process. Don’t fight it. Walk as much as you can and BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!

I had one natural med free birth, in hospital. Baby came so fast its a blur but I survived so....
Aiming to have another med free birth this time around, at least no epidural. May ask for iv meds if unbearable. Im hoping to be able to be mobile and not stuck on my back.

Breathe through your contractions and don’t fight them. Walking/pacing really helps too. I just had my second a few days ago and that is what I did. Did the same with my first also. I had them both at the hospital but drug free.

Trusting yourself to do the right thing and your body to handle it is key! I’ve had two 100% natural births (the 2nd 3 days ago!), both in the hospital. The 2nd was MUCH faster and easier. You’ll be amazing mama. Good luck!

Find a position your comfortable in. I’ve had 5 med free births & if I can’t find my position the contractions always seem unbearable. My last was in the hospital & I sat on the bed in a squat, facing the bed, in an upright position & rested on a pillow. Closed my eyes and breathed through. I know some people like changing positions a lot but during labor it always makes me feel vulnerable for when a hard contraction hits & you don’t know how to manage it. I also sit on a birthing ball. A majority of it is telling yourself that your body knows what it’s doing & you can do it. Hope that helps! I’m on #6 and believe me, every birth is different & I still get nervous!!
