Q about real estate agents

My husband and I are in the process of buying our first home, and don't know alot about the process. I am wondering how often we should hear back from our RE agent.

We sent her a few addresses to check out Sunday evening and have only heard back once, since. I understand yesterday was labor day so she may have had the day off. Totally understandable. How often should we be communicating with her? I dont want to annoy her and understand she has other clients but we're anxious the homes we like will be scooped up before we get a chance to see them and make an offer.

We expected to hear something back this morning but still nothing. Is this typical or should we hire someone else?
