Was your first labor better or worse than what you anticipated? Or was it roughly as expected? If you went in with no expectations, overall how would you describe your labor?
I’m a planner and the idea of labor and giving birth is slightly terrifying me at the moment. I’ve seen only one in person birth, and it was super smooth - total the girl was only in labor for 6 hours, only 4 at the hospital and only 1-2 pushing. My mom apparently was in labor for 13 hours with my oldest sister, and I’ve heard stories of people being in labor for 36+ hours, or having miserable labors. I’m already planning on it being pretty rough, and at this point I know it’s just a matter of getting through it and it will be worth it once it’s over, but I feel like it’s hard to mentally prepare myself when I literally have no idea of what to expect.
