Please help, first time mom

So my son will be sleeping in our bedroom until he’s much older (finance problems & comfort problems)

I know some babies don’t even sleep in their bassinet or crib but every baby is different.

We already have a playpen for our living room/other.

His crib would literally be next to our bed but it’s one of things where what if he just ends up sleeping in bed with us months later.

So it makes me think should I get the bassinet if he does that. Or just plain straight get the crib because it will be right next to our bed anyways and he can just go back and forth
