Even if you had sex the day you ovulated, implantation happens 85% of the time between 8-10 days after ovulation. It takes about 48 hours after implantation for HCG to increase enough to be detected by a home pregnancy test, even the most sensitive kind. 
Implantation can theoretically happen anytime between 6-12dpo, but only happens as early as 6dpo 0.5% of the time and would still mean the earliest you could get a positive test would be 8dpo. 
Most often, you need to wait 12-14 days after ovulation to get an accurate result. This would be around the time your period is expected.
In addition to that, sperm can live for up to 3-5 days in optimal conditions. So you could have sex on Monday, ovulate on Friday, and not get a positive test until two weeks from Friday (14 days after ovulation), almost 3 weeks after sex.
